Anna Kutbay, Political Science & EconomicsAnna Kutbay

Anna Kutbay is a political science and economics double major on the accelerated master’s track. She currently serves as an ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences and a research assistant for the UA Center for Economic Development, and she plans to study Constitutional or Tort Law after graduation.

Advice for Future Students

“My advice for future students is to think of college as a clean slate. Even if your high school years were perfect, college is a whole different experience. Come in with an open mind and the willingness to try new things. Also, don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself or your needs.”

Sydney NoordsySydney Noordsy, English

Sydney Noordsy is an English major and interdisciplinary linguistics minor on the pre-law track. After graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law, she plans to work as a constitutional and family attorney in Alabama and eventually become a judge.

Advice for Future Students

“Make the absolute most of your time here. In my opinion, The University of Alabama is the best in the nation, and it will give back what you put into it tenfold.”

Caitlyn JohnsonCaitlyn Johnson, Interdisciplinary Studies

Through New College, Caitlyn Johnson designed her own major focused on Middle East Studies — a choice that allows her to study a mix of religion, politics, history, language, and economics. After graduation, Caitlyn plans to attend law school and continue exploring her interest in the legal system.

Advice for Future Students

“My advice to future students would be to always say yes freshman year. Hang out with anyone at any time and make a conscious effort to get to know and invest in the people around you.”
