Experiential Learning

We encourage students to take advantage of out-of-classroom opportunities to develop their law school resume. Law schools do not have a preference for students with legal experience, and often law firms reserve internships for current law students. Instead, students should seek opportunities through their academic major(s), minor(s), the ICUE Center, the Office for Undergraduate Research, and other offices around campus to develop leadership and interpersonal skills. English *English also offers EN 380, a Legal Writing course that fulfills the W requirement for the core curriculum in Arts and Sciences. That course also counts for our minor inĀ Digital, Public, and Professional Writing. Some of our other internships will give students the opportunity to gain skills in grant writing.
