At this meeting, Samantha Rayborn will discuss her experience as a young, black attorney who graduated from Emory Law and runs her own social justice podcast.
Before entering private practice, Samantha Rayborn served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where she conducted criminal investigations, interviewed witnesses, and presented cases before the Grand Jury. She has experience in jury trials, bench hearings, and motions practice on a variety of criminal litigation matters.
Ms. Rayborn received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law where, among other things, she was a member of several student groups including the Emory Moot Court Society and the Emory Public Interest Committee (EPIC). She participated in several internships, including working as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Edgardo Ramos of the Southern District of New York. Ms. Rayborn graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Southern Mississippi, where her activities included serving as President of Students for Human Rights, as Director of Communications for the Center for Human Rights and Civil Liberties, and as Captain of the Southern Miss Debate Society.
Currently, Samantha Rayborn works at Hollingsworth LLP in the firm’s Complex Litigation, Pharmaceutical Products, and Toxic Torts & Products Liability groups. She also is a host of the podcast If We Could Talk (@ifwecouldtalkpod), which discusses social issues, racial justice, and government reform.
